Basic Flamingo TV Television Package consisting of a variation of 60 Channels.
FTV is busy extending and improving the basic channel line-up, which will be launched in Q1 2009,
Some important channels that were removed from the line-up will be returning and some great new channels will be added also.
This new Channel Line-up will be released on this website to the public at the end of December 2008.

FTV High Definition Premium Channels

High definition TV  (HDTV) is the ultimate quality in television. The picture is crystal clear and from an extremely high resolution. Hence the HD-TV experience is the ulitmate. In our display in the Flamingo Television Lobby our customers can get a preview of this quality. A special High Definition Television and decoder is needed in order to view this type of Televsion.
High Definition TV will become the next generation standard for TV experience. Flamingo Television is proud to announce that in Q1 of 2009 we will be able to deliver a selection of 2 high definition packages consisting of a variation of High definition Channels.
The Channel Line-up for the Hi-DigiTV Packages as well as pricing will be released on this website to the public at the end of Januari 2009.

Flamingo Television is in the process of upgrading all customers to double their original speed.
A new pricing structure thus had to be defined to accomodate this upgrade. As of Januari 2009 the following internet packages will be available.

Bronze - Package available as of Q1 2009 (Good for E-mail and low surfing use). Details to follow.

Silver - Download speeds from 1 up to 2Mbps burstable - Upload speed 128-256 Kbps - Dynamic Ip Address  Naf 95,-
 
Gold  - Download speeds from 2 up to 3 Mbps -Upload speed 256-512 Kbps, network priority  - Static Ip Address Naf 190,-

Platinum - Download speeds from 3  up to 5 Mbps - Upload speed 256-1 Mbps - network priority - Static Ip Address Naf 285,-

What we doFTTx Fiber to the Home/Business

Fiber based transport or delivery


Flamingo Television recently started preparing and rolling out a new fiber based infrastructure. Ultimately the entire Island of Bonaire will be connected to this fiber glass based infrastructure. Since transport of video and data on a fiber network is done by light, there is no signal loss on this network. This results in better stability, better quality picture, possibilities for high quality digital and high definition television and very high and reliable speed internet.
In common deployments from the fiber network a connection is made using existing coax cabling to homes or businesses. However using special equipment it is possible to bring fiber straight in to the house or business thus making a direct, speed of light based connection with the Flamingo Television Headend. Flamingo Television is currently launching a pilot project with 2 customer on Bonaire, Fundashon Cas Bonairiano and the Sand Dollar resort to be the first customers to obtain Flamingo Television Service on a fully fiber based network. The roll-out and connection for the public will start as of Q1 2009. We will inform our clients via this website when their area can be connected to this new fiber based network.

FTV-Voip  

Local and International Telephony using Internet
Packages starting from Naf 25,00 per month


Flamingo Television's intention to launch Voice over IP service had been announced a couple of months ago. The voice over IP platform has succesfully been built up in the Flamingo Television Head End and a succesful internal pilot was conducted. FTV provided some customers around Bonaire with a Voice over IP telephone to testride these telephony services. In certain areas the telephony services worked flawless with high quality voice, while in other areas especially at busy times, stuttering could be noticed. During the Pilot it thus became clear that in order to deliver reliable and stutter-free telephony service over internet, the customer bandwidth would have to be increased. Hence a customer bandwidth project was started which is currently in progress.
While we off-load customers from our coax-cable based network onto the new fiber based network, more capacity on the street-level will become available, allowing us to free needed capacity for this voice service. The first customers to be able to obtain these services will be the customers that will be connected to the new fiber-based infrastructure (track to Rincon). This will free up resources on the existing network sufficiently to deliver these voice service to other parts of the existing network.

These services will be availble during Q1 of  2009 for customers attached to the new fiber network and during Q2 of 2009 for other customers, depending on the area.

Pricing will be released during Q1 of 2009, but we can already give some hint regarding the pricing model. There will be a flat rate for local telephony and prices close or similar to skype services for international calls. No computer is needed for these services and a regular telephone or voice of ip phone can be used to call, just as one would do on traditional telephony.
